8 Mile Appoints Laurens Koppelaar as Executive Director

8 Mile is pleased to announce the appointment of Laurens Koppelaar as Executive Director, marking an exciting new chapter as the company continues its expansion across Asia Pacific.

Over the past 18 months, 8 Mile has grown into one of Southeast Asia's leading specialist health and wellbeing marketplaces. By bringing together insurance brokers, employers and healthcare providers, we've created a connected ecosystem that makes it easier to design and deliver healthcare interventions that improve workforce health and wellbeing.

Today, our marketplace includes more than 250+ healthcare and wellbeing partners, giving organisations access to specialist services through one integrated platform.

Leadership for the Next Phase

As the business enters its next phase of growth, Laurens will play a key role in accelerating our regional expansion, strengthening commercial partnerships and advancing our technology and AI product roadmap.

With more than 17 years of experience, Laurens brings deep expertise across corporate insurance, broking, management consulting and digital platforms. He has held senior leadership and commercial roles with Allianz and Aon, before helping scale high-growth technology businesses including Symbo and Syfe.

His experience sits at the intersection of insurance, technology and innovation, making him well placed to help shape 8 Mile's future.

"Healthcare is increasingly about delivering the right intervention at the right time. 8 Mile has built a strong marketplace and is now combining that with AI to help organisations make smarter healthcare decisions. I'm excited to help accelerate that vision across Asia." – Laurens Koppelaar, Executive Director, 8 Mile

Laurens joins 8 Mile at a pivotal time as the company continues building solutions that help insurers, brokers and employers move beyond fragmented healthcare services towards smarter, data-led interventions that deliver measurable outcomes. His appointment reflects 8 Mile's commitment to redefining how preventive healthcare is designed, delivered and scaled across the region.
