Celebrating You: An Evening of Stories, Laughter and the People Behind 8 Mile
Celebrating You
There’s something special about stepping away from work to simply celebrate the people who make it all happen. That’s exactly what the 8 Mile team did on 11 October, gathering friends, speakers and partners for a night at The Gong by Drinks & Co. in DUO Galleria, Singapore.
We called it “Celebrating You”, and the name said it all. There were no big stages or formal speeches, no slideshows or schedules, just great food, great drinks and even better company. For many of the guests, it was the first time meeting face-to-face after months of virtual calls and shared projects. The result? A room full of laughter, swapped stories, and a sense of connection that only grows stronger with time.
Recalling how it all started
At one point in the evening, Founder Rui Savio Dass shared how far the journey had come, and how simply it had all begun. “When I first started 8 Mile, I walked into a client’s office asking for a chance to support their talks on Critical Illness,” Rui said. “They said: 10 talks for $3,000. It wasn’t much, but it was a start. Then came Dr Harish Mithiran, who told me, ‘Let me get you the best 3 surgeons to do a talk.’ From there, each of you joined us, referred friends, and together we’ve grown into a household name.”
How far we've come
That growth has been incredible. Over the past 18 months, 8 Mile has delivered more than 400 engagements, brought together over 200 speakers, and reached 4,300+ attendees this year alone.
Our Net Promoter Score sits at an impressive 4.75 out of 5. But that night, numbers took a back seat. “Celebrating You” wasn’t about data or milestones. It was about people - the voices, minds and hearts behind 8 Mile’s work in corporate wellness and advocacy.
Where we are headed
As we look to 2026, our focus is turning towards deep impact, moving from awareness to action, and from education to advocacy. Through partnerships with insurers and brokers, we are helping organisations go beyond one-off events. Our programmes now tackle everything from musculoskeletal health and chronic care to nutrition, heart health, mental resilience and leadership development.
Our “Celebrating You” evening served as a reminder of what truly powers all of it: the people who give their time, energy and expertise to make every session matter.
Here’s to them, and here’s to what’s next.
